DITO FOUNDATION
Our organization DITO is committed to providing medical care and education for the poorest, to provide a basis for human life. Our activities stretch from India to Nepal and Senegal. We can not do that without cooperating with Western and local NGOs and not without you, for whom happiness is often self-evident.
DITO. It stands for ‘Drop in the Ocean’ and refers to the famous words of Mother Teresa: “It’s just a drop in the ocean, but without that drop there would be no ocean.” Since our inception, we have been able to change thousands of dejected faces in happy faces.
DITO (Drop In The Ocean) was founded in 1996 by Xander van Meerwijk. The Dito Foundation focuses on providing medical care and education to children and women in less developed countries. DITO has had decades of cooperation with the Dominique Lapierre City of Joy Foundation and always works with local NGOs. Since 1996, the foundation has set up and supported many international projects. Most projects are for an indefinite period and an incidental request is honored approximately twice a year. In the meantime hundreds of thousands of children and adults have been helped in India, Tibet, Nepal, Senegal and Thailand.
